I just finished reading The Dark Beneath (The Nexus), book two in the Nexus series. First off if you didn't read The Nexus you will have a hard time getting into the story line. This book picks up right where The Nexus left off, continuing the story of Anterra's top secret crime fighting division. The writing is very good with the storyline at times introspective, looking at the real life struggles and flaws of the characters, and at times as pulse pounding as the best thrillers I have read. I was kept guessing right up to the end about which way things were headed and when I finally reached the last page there was enough closure to say "I can wait for the next book in the series" and enough intrigue to say "I can't wait for the next book in the series". I just love this series, can't wait for the next installment! The author is a great story teller with fantastic descriptions.
I gave my full review for the 3rd book and have come back to give this one. I read all three books in under 36 hrs, probably under 24 and will b recommending this series to family and friends!
This s a wonderful sequal to The Nexus! The first book hooked me and I hated that the I was done. So I was thrilled that I could continue the story with a sequal. Loved the twists and turns. Kept me interested all the way through. Would definately recommend this book!
I enjoyed this book greatly, it is a good follow-up to "The Nexus", in that it addresses the effects that the central technology has on society. The third book, "Earth's Shadow" looks like it will take this farther. I am looking forward to reading it.
Good book and now on too the 3rd and last series of nexus series! I felt book 2 pick up more in this book but book 1 nexus still good too!
The Dark Beneath picks up where The Nexus left off; I would recommend reading it first. J. Kraft Mitchell does a great job further developing the characters in the second book. You begin to understand through their back stories what drives them and the various decisions they make. Mitchell's plot twists and turns made this a fun don't won't to put it down read. This series is well written and book one flows perfectly into book two. I can not wait to see what he has in store for the third book.
